10 Blogging Tips by Chris Brogan

September 26, 2008

Chris is a great blogger and social media pro. He supplies great content on Twitter as well as one of the top users there. Check our his recent quick tips on blogging. My kind of list: short, concise, and quality.

Briefly, some tips:

  1. Write to be helpful.
  2. Be brief.
  3. Tell a story.
  4. Connect others, if appropriate.
  5. Share. Often.
  6. Don’t overthink it. (It’s a blog, not a dissertation.)
  7. But be thoughtful.
  8. Don’t be mean.
  9. Publish often enough to build a relationship.
  10. But be mindful of your audience’s time.

What else would you say? What if you were telling someone at Disney or Starbucks or the Woman’s Society for Advanced Cancer Research about blogging? Share your blogging tips?

  1. Great tips. If everyone followed these, the “interweb” would be a better place.
